Welcome
I am a biographer, author and broadcaster.
My main books are lives of Muammar Qaddafi, Ian Fleming, Rudyard Kipling, Dylan Thomas, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Wilkie Collins.
I also write and review for a large number of newspapers and magazines.
I lecture and speak at schools, universities and literary festivals. I have recently finished a stint on the Management Committee of the Society of Authors. I am currently a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
